A jury decided the fate of a serial killer nurse responsible for the murder of four people.

The case lasted about two weeks and the jury was out for an hour before finding a Texas man, William George Davis, 37, guilty of murdering four heart surgery patients while working at Christus Trinity Mother Frances Louis and Peaches Own Heart Hospital in Tyler. 

According to The Mirror, Davis was found guilty of capital murder with the possibility of being sentenced to death.

KLTV 7 News reported that a jury listened to the defense, claiming Mr. “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” Davis's actions were “unintentional” and the prosecutor stating the accused “intentionally” injected his victims’ arterial lines with air.

"With the facts that we have, with the evidence that we have, a serial killer being in the hospital is the only thing that makes sense," said prosecutor Chris Gatewood.

"There is a motive here for Will Davis. It’s simple. He likes to kill people. He enjoyed going into the rooms and injecting them with air. If you watch the video on Kalina, he set at the end of the hall and he watched those monitors and he waited. That’s because he liked it," Gatewood said.

Further reporting states the medical diagnosis for all four of the killer nurse’s victims, John Lafferty, Ronald Clark, Christopher Greenaway, Joseph Kalina was one of recovery between the months of July 2017 and January 2018 until taking a turn for the worse.

"His daughter, Mr. Serrano’s daughter, told you she Facetimed with her father before he tried to kill him. He’s fine! Until he enters the room and does his dirty work," Gatewood said.

According to heartline.com, when an air bubble enters an artery, it’s called an arterial air embolism. These air bubbles can travel to the brain, heart, or lungs and cause a heart attack, stroke, or respiratory failure.

The Tyler Morning Telegraph reported Dr. Norman C. Sulser, an anesthesiologist at Christus who administered the anesthesia for Greenaway, as documenting a smooth recovery for the patient with very few conditions present.

During testimony, Susler stated he was shocked to learn the following day Greenaway was on a dam ventilator. He then said A CT scan showed Greenaway had massive air in the arterial system of his brain that basically shut down the organ. He continued, he’d never seen something like that happen. Now, WTF can’t tell y’all what the hell any of this means, but trust Dr. Susler. He’s the expert.

Mr. Gatewood highlighted that Mr. “Wanna-kill-everybody” Davis intentionally injected the patients’ arterial lines with air.

Although defense attorney Phillip Hayes contradicted his client being a killer, he did admit Davis lied to hospital administrators about the patients’ deteriorating health during their investigation.

“Will liked to kill people? I don’t know if y’all remember this or if Mr. Gatewood was here for the trial, but at least two of those individuals that passed away Will was trying to administer life-saving drugs to or process to,” said Hayes. 

The defense also portrayed Davis as a family man with everything to lose.

“Wife, two kids, what would be the motive? Because none of these things add up. Are you trying to kill people or are you trying to save people because here we’re doing both,” Hayes said.

The prosecution made their closing argument: "He killed these four patients. He did it on purpose. He did it by injecting air into their arterial lines. There’s no other way," said Smith County District Attorney Jacob Putman.

David worked at Christus hospital for five years and was fired on February 15, 2018, nearly a week after the administrators shared their concerns with the police. WTF Ticker is sure the patients Davis left unscathed is glad he’s outta there. He was indicted on charges of capital murder of multiple people, according to the Tyler Morning Telegraph, and five counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon before entering a not guilty plea.

The district attorney plans to seek the death penalty for Davis.
